Mainsail Repairs

On a 5 hour sail down to Offatts Bayou, Matt noticed the sunlight beaming through the mainsail near the leech. It looked like a whole.

It was a hole!

So now we’re repairing the mainsail, and it’s a first! We’ve not done this before.

So let’s see how it’s done.

We first bought the Speedy Stitcher (here it is on Amazon, *affiliate link), and that device is awesome!

It’s just that the needles are way too large for holes in a sail. It’ll do better for upholstery and canvas work.

So I went with the old needle and thread.

And sure enough, it was rather easy to do and ready for a test sail with who better than the grandparents!
