It’s a girl’s sailing day. Nancy and Olivia are running Cadence, choosing our destination, and taking the helm. Plus, Olivia shares her secrets in the galley.
Laughing Bird Cay
There’s supposed to be a great dive spot there, but I lost my spear in Pineapple Cay. So this simple 4 mile sail takes us from Pau Pau to Laughing Bird Cay, a small anchorage south of Governor’s Harbour.
We had 13-16 knots of wind, on a broad reach – That’s simply the best!
Windlass Mistakes
Olivia learned a few lessons about the windlass. She “jerked” the anchor and created a crack in the fiberglass on the bow. So I opted out for a beer before breakfast! LOL
Nothing to stress about, just another bit of sailboat maintenance.
Near Governor’s Harbour
One of the great things about anchoring at Laughing Bird Cay is the how close to Governor’s Harbour we are. That provides us all the groceries and resources we need.
The Best Galley Tool
While cooking up the world’s best marinara, Olivia showcases our favorite kitching tool – The Hand Blender. Check it out here on Amazon. It’s not the first one we’ve owned, but take it from us, the brand matters.
We use it aboard our sailboat for making sauces, creating smoothies, whipping creams, chopping veggies, and dashing up salsa.
